The 10 Ideals, like the 5 Star Program, cover many important and sometimes forgotten ideals & skills that help us better understand what true Americanism is and give us a better working knowledge of U.S. History, Civics, Legionism and assist the development of leadership skills that help to forge a well rounded person & citizen.
PATRIOTISM: Commonly defined as love of, pride in and/or devotion to one’s country
COMRADESHIP: Defined as closely associating & working together in the same important occupation or activity; the intimate fellowship, company, friendship or fellow purpose with others.
COURTESY: Defined as polite behavior marked by excellence of manners, social conduct or respect for others.
FAITH: Defined as a confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.
HEALTH: The condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit; freedom from physical disease or pain
HONOR: Defined as honesty, fairness, or integrity in one’s beliefs and actions; high respect.
HELPFULNESS: Defined as providing, giving or rendering aid or assistance to others; being a useful contributor.
KNOWLEDGE: Defined as Familiarity, awareness or understanding gained through experience or study.
REVERANCE: Defined as a feeling or act of profound awe and respect; to venerate.
TRAINING: Described as teaching, or developing in oneself or others by education, instruction, or discipline, any skills, knowledge or fitness that relates to specific useful competencies.
